Ken-ken is simply the cutest thing ever. His voice is simply amazing. It's really, really high pitched and truly adorable, even if he's still quite upset that it hasn't changed yet. He and Go became close after joining Johnny's and always hung out together. Ken-ken adores dogs and had two of the: Indian Blue Angel (aka Blue) and Little Prince J Wolf (aka J). He didn't go to high school, but went to a trade school instead. He never finished, though, since he made it big with V6. Work Ken-ken was simply made to be an idol. As V6's heartthrob, he's definitely a fan favorite. It's truly amazing, because when you watch him in concert, he simply glows. Other members may get sweaty and exhausted, but Ken-ken's hair is still fluffy and he looks just perfect. Such is the power of Johnny's. Unfortunately, his voice is so high and painfully cute that it sticks out like a sore thumb, so he doesn't do as many of the V6 solos as other members. It seems that this changed somewhat around the time of the "Volume 6" and "seVen" albums. Ken-ken seems to have gotten more solos, and performed them very solidly. Maybe he's finally coming to terms with the fact that his voice will never change... Ken-ken is a regular member on Itou-ke no Shokutaku (The Itou Family's Dinner Table), a show that has a "family" of celebrities who review helpful household tips. As strange as it sounds, it's a remarkarkably interesting show and really popular. Ken-ken is also constantly enlisted to do various roles in TV dramas, my personaly favorite being 2001's Neverland. Much to my surprise, he turned out to be quite a strong actor, handling a very complex role with ease. In 2004, Ken starred in a stage production of "The Graduate". Now tell me THAT'S not scary. Personality Just because Ken-ken's cute, don't think he's some little angel. He can be quite loud, violent, and painfully energetic. He's mischevious at time, acting like a little kid, and tends to say things without really thinking about them first. According to other members of V6, Ken-ken is in the worst health. He has allergies, has bad hay fever, and can't take many types of medicine. He can't even eat soba. To make up for his poor health, Ken-ken stocks up on vitamins. He hates early mornings, and is apparently a bit of a pack rat. He's really into recycling and excersizing, and apparently has no tolerance for alcohol. Although he sometimes says things that don't really make much sense, you can tell that Ken-ken is actually very intelligent and great at languages. Fun Anecdotes & Misc. 
During one Gakkou e Ikou segment, Ken-ken laughed at a young adolescent boy, giggling hysterically at how funny the boy's voice sounded. At which point the V6 member working with him turned to Ken-ken and replied, "Like you should talk." Needless to say, Ken-ken stopped laughing pretty quickly. ;^_^ His inability to hold liquor is also amazing. During a party, Ken-ken was "peer pressured" into chugging his beer. Not only did he grimace the whole time, but he turned red immediately afterwards.In other segments, he's proved his intelligence and talent with languages. While in the country with Go, Ken-ken signed a log book and included an impromptu haiku with perfect 5-7-5. Ken-ken was rather proud; Go looked baffled. Whenever V6 goes abroad, Ken-ken always seems to be the one who learns a few key phrases in the local language and spouts them when necessary. I have no idea how good his pronunciation is, but the locals always seem to understand him, which is a good sign. He was also able to perfectly speak an unusual dialect of Japanese for a segment, just by studying his butt off during the short plane ride. |
