Go-tsun's mom was apparently only 17 when she had him, which seems pretty appropriate for both his personality and his name. The name "Go" is slightly unusual; two other Johnny's guys (from KinKi Kids and SMAP) use the same character for their first name, but it's pronounced "Tsuyoshi". Go-tsun's name apparently comes from Go-san, or famous singer Hiromi Go. Go-san has been in the business for over 30 years, and all 30 of those years have been spent as a sexy male heart-breaker. No doubt Go-tsun's mom was a Go-san fan, but I doubt she had any idea that her son would be a popular idol himself. As for Go-tsun, he's a good boy who apparently admired X-Japan's Hide for being a celebrity who did so much for his fans. (Is Go-tsun really following that, though...? I don't think hitting them with Nerf weaponry is being kind to your fans...) Go used to be a big soccer player, although now his game is bowling. His friendship with Ken goes back to their days in Johnny's Junior. Work Go-tsun was the first member of V6 that I was able to recognize. He's the "bad ass" of the group: He always dyes his hair and keeps it long. He loves rap music and R&B. He tends to wear outfits with English curse words written all over them. Go-tsun's been in several TV dramas, and whether in dramas or concerts, he always tends to play the role of the young punk: he breaks the rules, he slinks around, he raps, he takes Johnny's Jr. members hostage. But although he loves rapping for V6, and is very good at it at that, his singing voice is very high, clear, and simply beautiful. Go-tsun would probably start hitting you if you ever described his singing as "angelic", but it's TRUE, it seriously is. Personality Go-tsun is the biggest kid in the world. I think of him like your pubescent little brother. He loves making fun of people, throwing things, and whacking everything and anything with Nerf baseball bats. For all of his "bad ass" personality, Go-tsun really is a softy at heart. While he's wild and outspoken during V6 segments, he's surprisingly quiet and polite during interviews. For some reason that's unknown to me, he also has a real soft spot for the young and the old. Go-tsun loves small children and babies, often asking to take them home with him or at least hold them for a while. He also loves talking to old people, asking them about their lives and conversing with them very comfortably. Go-tsun's game of choice is bowling. He has his very own bowling ball, painted like a soccer ball to reflect his past love. His best game was close to 300. He has a dog at home (Ken said that Go-tsun's dog is fat; Go-tsun said that Ken's dogs are ugly). But he apparently has a fear of chickens. Go-tsun hates getting up, and can sleep like a log if you let him. Surprisingly, he's also extremely bad at holding liquor. Although Go-tsun can get very serious about work or competition and isn't afraid to push himself, he's the type who doesn't do any preparation and simply gives his all for the real thing. Although it sometimes works against him, his "fly by the seat of your pants" method sometimes leads to amazingly natural and creative results. Fun Anecdotes & Misc.
Go-tsun and Sakamoto are by far the most like real brothers. They really didn't get along too well at first, but after Sakamoto yelled and made Go-tsun cry, they seem to get along just fine. Go-tsun acts like a little brat and Sakamoto acts like an old fart, but the two mesh somehow and end up having a good time.Go-tsun loves bowling so much that the other members say he'd leave after work to play even if it was the early hours of the morning. He's even gone bowling with the local old folks in his home town, with old ladies cheering him on with every strike. During an appearance on the music show "Music Station", Go-tsun and Inocchi admitted that they were very nervous about the new acrobatics (running up a ramp and doing a back flip off of it) choreographed in their routine. Why? They hadn't practiced. Both said they were just too scared to try it. But they ended up doing just fine, which made Go-tsun break into a HUGE smile during the middle of the song. TOO cute. For a Gakkou e Ikou! competition, Go-tsun became friends with Dori, a 10-year old mutt. Dori was, by far, either the smartest or stupidest dog on the planet. Go-tsun spent most of his time during the segment chasing Dori desperately after she had sprinted away. And yet, when choosing a dog for another competition, Go-tsun went with Dori. Go-tsun hates losing and Dori is hopeless, but Go-tsun simply had to work with his dear old pal again. And during another special segment, the other members of V6 planned a very special midnight birthday surprise for Go-tsun's 25th birthday... but didn't count on the birthday boy going to bed before 11:00pm. It was surprisingly difficult to wake Go-tsun up, and he ended up extremely groggy the entire time. He was constantly rolling over and attempting to go back to sleep amongst well-wishes. "I'm happy, I truly am, thank you," he would say. "Now PLEASE leave." |
