Nagano-kun's family owns a bike shop, so he's into motorbikes, motorcycles, and the like. He joined Johnny's at the end of middle school, but like Sakamoto, left for two years in 1990. He went back to school to learn information processing, but thankfully, he came back. Work Nagano-kun's likability makes him a perfect performer and entertainer. He has co-hosted the shows "Boon" and "MOBI" about cars, motorcycles, and racing. He was "Tonbo" in the "Kiki's Delivery Service" musical. He was "Yano-sensei" in a "Toilet no Hanako-san" movie (about the infamous bathroom ghost), and he was cast to dub the lead voice in Disney's "Atlantis." But Nagano-kun's best known role, by far, is that of "Ultraman Tiga." "Ultraman" is a long-running sentai show in Japan, like "Power Rangers", "Masked Rider", that sort of stuff. They're very popular among kids, especially young boys, and in 1996~1997 they released a season of shows entitled "Ultraman Tiga." Years later, little kids STILL recognize Nagano-kun as Ultraman. No matter what he's doing, who he's with, or what he's dressed as, there always seems to be a little boy around who'll look up to him with starry eyes and say, "It's Tiga~!" As can be expected from Ultraman Tiga, Nagano-kun is a great dancer and terrific acrobat. He has really amazing handsprings, achieved by actually springing as he flips over, not just using momentum to flip his body. And he often acts as a base for V6 acrobatics, easily flipping other members over his head. According to Okada, Nagano-kun is very strong and can whip you around with little effort. Personality I think I read Nagano-kun described best on a Japanese fan page. They said that if V6 were a family, Inocchi and KamiSen would be the sons, Sakamoto would be papa, and Nagano-kun would be mama. He tends to smile most of the time, acting friendly and kind to anyone he meets. He's constantly chipper, no matter what time of day or night it is, and has a definite sweet spot for small children. He also has an incredible amount of confidence, in a way that makes you like him, but with a strain of mischeviousness that makes him a friendly joker. But I think he's truly at his best in "Nagano-mama" mode. He gets very quiet and calm. He listens carefully, and when he does talk, he does so softly and very supportively. Aww~! Unlike other V6 members, I don't know if there's anything that Nagano-kun dislikes. He seems to find joy and humor in just about anything. He enjoys soccer and sending strange email messages filled with happy heart marks from his ancient cell phone. Besides motorbikes and motorsports, Nagano-kun is a huge gourmet. He carries magazines ranking food places in his bag, he has restaurants programmed into his cell phone, he has stacks of business cards from eateries all over Japan, and he sees nothing wrong with traveling 1-1/2 hours to eat ramen. Fun Anecdotes & Misc.
Nagano-kun and Sakamoto are apparently good friends in real life, and tend to hang out together a lot. But Nagano-kun gets along really well with all of V6. In one Gakkou e Ikou segment, Nagano-kun read an email that he had gotten entitled, "To Hiroshi". The email went on to say, "Lately, you haven't invited me out to eat. I'm kinda feeling really lonely! You used to invite me out all the time..." We never got to hear the rest of the email, due to Ken's fierce response. Turns out, that email was from him~! Awww... In the Miseinen no Shuuchou segments for Gakkou e Ikou, Nagano-kun has also handed out incredibly odd advice to boys on the states of their wee-wees, including "It's so cold out, you could pound a nail in with your wee-wee" and "Only touch it when you're washing it." Oh, he'll be a great parent one day.I saw Nagano-mama during his best for a Johnny's Entertainment athletics match. Okada competed for his team by attempting to walk across domino-like bridges of giant foam blocks. It takes incredible balance and quite frankly looks nearly impossible, but Okada got quite far before suddenly falling. He was more surprised by his sudden fall by anything else, but when he returned to his team, Nagano-kun greeted him with a big smile and even bigger hug, patting him on his head and telling him he did a good job. What a good mama. ^_^ Nagano-kun's even gotten mad (kinda) during a Viva Viva V6 segment. Inocchi and Nagano-kun were shipped off to Korea, and at 2a.m., Inocchi was understandable buried under his covers. Nagano-kun, however, was still shockingly awake, working hard for the next day's segment. Not only that, but he seemed to be simply ignoring Inocchi's state of sleep, as he had all of the lights on and was calmly trying to converse with "Yoshi-kun". Inocchi answered him by chucking a pillow at his head. As Inocchi groggily apologized, I saw it... Nagano-kun was mad. And what is Nagano-kun like mad? He's... um... a lot like normal Nagano-kun. He got quiet, serious, and (in a rather calm and reasonable tone), admonished Inocchi. That... was pretty much the extent of it. |
