"Doko ni Iku n desu ka?" Game
The "Where are you going?" Game

This has got to be my favorite segment and favorite game of all time. The V6 guys break into three teams of two, and are given a simple task: get from the starting point to the goal the fastest in order to win a nice dinner or other similar prize. The trick? They have to move around by asking "Where are you going?" to people they see on the street, and then follow them, no matter WHERE they're going. Also, if V6 approaches someone who accidentally blurts out where they're going, they have to follow them, too. The game is mainly just luck, although it does involve some strategy. V6 has to decide what kind of person who approach, and they always try to be extremely careful about getting someone to give details about their trip (such as minutes by train) without revealing the actual location. Even though the game is usually centered around Tokyo, with a trip that would normally take you about an hour, the game tends to take all day with V6 ending up in some really strange places, sometimes doing some odd things. Here's some summaries of the games that I've seen:

Ikebukuro-Kasai Rinkai Koen: On a side note, the goal is where I used to live. Anyway, as Ken was busy, Ueno Miku paired up with Inocchi. The two of them first got sent very close to Kasai, only two train stops away, where they ran into a little girl who recognized Inocchi. But before Inocchi and Miku could really say anything, the little girl told them that she was headed to Mother Bokujou, which is kinda like a zoo for country animals. As long as they were around, they road horses for a while before getting back on track. Meanwhile, Okada and Nagano ended up heading to a teeny island, where Nagano used quite a clever trick to get them lunch. He called an old woman who was running a small restaurant into the street. Then he asked her, "Where are you going?" to which she replied, "Into the store." Lo and behold, Okada and Nagano got to eat. Clever clever bunnies... It actually ended up being literal race between Okada-Nagano and Inocchi-Miku for the goal. But as Okada and Nagano were faster runners, they won the game by bare seconds. But what about Go and Sakamoto? The unluckiest team in the universe ended up being sent to a zoo in Hokkaido at the very beginning. After basically begging a family at the zoo, they got taken to the airport where they found someone heading to Nagoya. Which... isn't QUITE Tokyo, but at least it's the same island. From there, they managed to get a salaryman heading to Tokyo, which is how far they managed to get by the time the game was won. I don't know how it happens. They're SO unlucky.

Ueno-Hong Kong: In one of their longer games, V6 broke up into teams to get from Tokyo to a location in Hong Kong. Ken and Nagano looked like they were doing really well at first. Not only did they go straight from Tokyo to Hong Kong, but they got to have a nice dinner, go to an aquarium where Ken spotted "Okada-kun" (a fish with a big "forehead"), and spend the night at a kind family's house. The memory of a groggy Ken struggling out of the top bunk of a bunk bed will always make me happy... Too bad the next day they ended up going to Macao and somewhere mainland China. Oops... Ken was also given the fun task of asking "where are you going?" in Chinese, although sometimes he'd get too excited and no one could understand a word he said. It looked like Okada and Inocchi were doing pretty good at first, as they managed to get to the airport pretty quickly... but then they ended up going to Bangkok in Thailand, instead. Once there, they couldn't find a place to stay, so they ended up sleeping in the street. T-that's dangerous, guys... Even if Okada-kun did look too cute curled up with his hat over his face. But not to worry~! The next day, with Okada asking "where are you going?" in Thai, they got to visit a temple, and even ended up getting to the goal first. Once again, the horribly unlucky pair of Sakamoto and Go were together... Where in an unbelievable turn of events, a woman they were talking to was heading to Florida. Luckily, the budget probably didn't account for Sakamoto and Go flying to America, so they were given another chance. Unlike they other two groups, Sakamoto and Go ended up working their way across Japan, eventually flying to Hong Kong out of Osaka. Along the way, Go and Sakamoto followed someone to visit a giant gorge. The gorge included a large wooden bridge, which was accented by big glass spots in the floor so that you could look down and see the chasm below you. Sakamoto, who hates heights with a passion, was absolutely petrified. Go, being the kind and understanding little brother that he is, amused himself by pushing Sakamoto-kun over the glass spots and then laughing hysterically. Oh dear... On the plus side, they were able to stay the night at a nice old woman's house and even managed to reach the goal second.

Shinagawa-Odaiba: For this game, the winner was promised dinner with some famous, beautiful sisters, so as you can imagine, everyone was very excited. Inocchi and Ken ended up veering off pretty quickly, following two girls to a hot springs up north in the mountains. Inocchi was upset because one of the girls had told him that it was close... and she insisted that it was, since it was only an hour by Shinkansen (high speed train). Once at the hot springs, they got sent further up the mountain with a couple who was going skiing. And, as long as they were there, they decided to play for a while before heading back to Tokyo. Meanwhile, Okada and Nagano met up with some kickboxers training to be in the K-1 league. They ended up going up to Saitama to join the training session. The best part came when the training master taught Okada-kun to pull off an amazing roundhouse. Even the master was impressed by Okada's form. Sasuga Johnny's~! After that, Okada and Nagano worked their way back to Tokyo, eventually ended up at the starting point. (After enough of these games, you figure out that simply getting back to where you started is often an accomplishment.) They called Inocchi and Ken to check how on them, but didn't call Sakamoto and Go. After their past bad luck, Inocchi and Ken said that the two were probably somewhere in Nagoya. However, the winner for this round turned out to be, shockingly enough, Sakamoto and Go. Their secret was simply that they just plain didn't move anywhere. About three or four times they ended up following people who were heading a couple of doors down. After circling Tokyo incredibly slowly, they eventually ended up at the goal before anyone else. Sakamoto and Go were pretty excited, assuming that the famous, beautiful sisters had to be the famous models, the Kanae sisters. As it turned out, the sisters were Chibi-Puffy from the Chibi-Utahime segment. Go was hysterical, blushing hard and saying that after the thoughts he had, it was hard to look at the two little girls. G-go...

Ueno-Yokohama: After Sakamoto and Go finally won, they were free to be split up into to other teams. Go and Ken paired up, making possibly the most dangerous pair ever. How dangerous? Almost every time, they just walked up to people and simply asked, "Where are you going?" You should try and warm up to it first, at least to figure out how long the train ride is... It should be no surprise that the two ended up going to Shizuoka. But they got to visit a country house and eat some poor guy's fried shrimp lunch, and then a family with cute little girls invited them along to a safari park. Enclosed in a barred bus, Ken and Go got to feed chunks of meat to lions and bears before finally heading to Yokohama. Sakamoto and Nagano started out on a happy note, running into a small boy who loved Ultraman. Nagano merrily told him that if he tried hard, he could be Ultraman one day, too (at which point Go and Ken started making rude comments ^_^). They headed to Yokohama early on, eating a nice Chinese lunch with a couple. However, at the end, the waitress brought out a dish of turtle blood. Judging from their expressions, it's not exactly something that you'd order for yourself... Afterwards, they headed to Sea Paradise with a couple who wanted to ride the Freefall ride. Have I mentioned lately that Sakamoto is TERRIFIED of heights? Nagano merrily insisted that he had to get on, too, but Sakamoto dug his heels in like a little kid and refused to budge. He was eventually saved from the horror, and the two ended up at Yamashita Koen, right near the goal at Cosmo World. And just to show what a small world it is, they ran into Go and Ken. After a scuffle where Sakamoto called Go a shrimp, and Ken lept onto Nagano to beat him up, the two teams raced to find someone headed to the goal... and as it turned out, Sakamoto and Nagano got there first. So where were Inocchi and Okada? They had trouble finding someone to ask at first, since the woman they were chasing simply ran from them. "We're V6~! V6~!!" Inocchi shouted after her. Inocchi gets really insulted when people (especially women) ignore him in this game... he's always saying, "You should start screaming when you see us, 'OH MY GOD, IT'S V6~!!!!!'" In their continued bad luck, they ended up in Osaka, but Inocchi came up with a great plan to get home by simply shouting to a gathered crowd, "IS THERE ANYONE FROM TOKYO HERE!?" As it turned out, there was a Tokyo couple... and since they were on vacation, they were headed to Universal Studios Japan. Not to be discouraged, Inocchi and Okada "accidentally" let themselves be dragged into USJ, where they had a great time on the rides. They finally flew back to Tokyo, only to end up driving right past the goal as the other two teams checked in. As Inocchi put it, "COSMO WORLD~ COME HOME~"(??)

Shinjuku-Shinagawa: Since Okada-kun was busy, Ken got paired with another celebrity with the initials "OJ", comedian Ohki Jun. The two ended up doing horribly, first going to the northernmost island of Hokkaido, then to Niigata, then to Fukuoka on the southern island. But on the plus side, they DID get to visit a waterpark and see the dolphin show. Inocchi and Go had a hysterical run. They didn't go very far, but they got to go to lunch with two girls, AND found two other girls who were heading to a wedding reception. Once they arrived, the girls suggested that since Go and Inocchi were already there, perhaps they could stay for a little bit. The "food" light went off in their heads, and the two agreed to stay. After changing into tuxes that they got from lord knows where, a woman lead them into the wedding reception, but not before asking if Inocchi and Go could say a few words. Both were incredibly shocked, to say the least. But never underestimate the power of Johnny's. Inocchi proceeded to give a lovely speech, which went something like this: "Congratulations on your wedding day, Takeshi-san, Kumiko-san. ...I've known Takeshi since we were kids, and we've always been the best of friends..." The slightly drunken crowd cheered for Inocchi, and all was well. That's Inocchi; best friend to drunken male 20-somethings. Sakamoto and Nagano ended up heading straight to Chiba, to the east of Tokyo. And from there, they found a pair of guys who were headed to a teeny island in order to fish. The ferry dropped them off and left them... which meant that they were stuck there for an hour. Inocchi and Go ended up calling them just to see how they were doing, and Sakamoto was able to assure them that he caught a fish, one that was a whole 19cm long. Omedeto. After getting back to the mainland, Sakamoto and Nagano found a couple that was, just Sakamoto's luck, going for a helicopter ride. Did I mention that Sakamoto hates heights? After all of that, Sakamoto and Nagano got to the goal half an hour after Inocchi and Go. Tough break.

Shinagawa-Tokyo Tower: Nagano and Okada ended up leaving Tokyo pretty quickly, ending up on the north-west coast of Japan. And they kept getting farther and farther away, too... But, as long as they were in the area, they decided to visit a local Buddha, so they basically coerced someone into saying that they were going to the Buddha statue. That's... one way to get where you're going. Inocchi and Ken teamed up, but quickly ended up being shipped off to the country. Not to be discouraged, Inocchi and Ken decided to try and hit up an old country couple for lunch. Because, well, Ken and Inocchi like to eat. But the couple insisted that if they wanted to eat, they had to work. So Ken and Inocchi spent their time learning how to pick cucumbers. Inocchi actually looked like he was having a great time... Afterwards, Inocchi and Ken ended up following two people who were visiting a place that makes sake, which means, of course, free samples. Then again, maybe it wasn't such a good idea... when attempting to serve another round, Ken ended up opening the keg too far, sending sake flying. And afterwards, it became apparent that Inocchi had gotten himself nicely toasted. He started doing strange things, like hitting Ken angrily after Ken found someone to take them back to the train station. It was truly hysterical. Meanwhile, Sakamoto-kun was busy, so Go got paired with Golgo Matsumoto, half of the comedy duo TIM. They were actually doing pretty good, until they got sent to Yokohama during their home stretch. They were simply hysterical, though. Matsumoto-san taught Go all sorts of strange comedic things, my favorite being when the two of them started acting out the character "fire" whenever things were going so well that they were "burning up". Too funny.

Ueno-Yokohama: In this Christmas edition of the game, the three teams played to win a present from Santa Claus, while finding presents for their Gakkou e Ikou co-hosts, as well. The unluckiest team on the planet, Sakamoto and Go, were together once again and given the task to find a present for Ueno Miku. Almost immediately, the pair found themselves heading to a hot springs resort in the north. They participated in a traditional hot springs show of sorts with some kind old ladies who recognized Go from TV. Sakamoto seemed to be having great fun, and prevented Go from fleeing halfway through the performance. They were having trouble finding their way back, and after discovering luxuries like public foot baths, they questioned why they were trying to leave the resort town. But they finally found a couple headed to Shin-Yokohama. Both Go and Sakamoto were cheering and hugging each other happily... at which point Go asked, "Where are we going, again?" Sakamoto reminded him that their goal of the game was Yokohama... at which point Go got REALLY excited. H-he forgot...? After finding their way to Yokohama, Sakamoto and Go were far in the lead. At least, until, they found a couple heading to Nagoya. Those guys have no luck... At least they were able to buy a Christmas present for Miku: a towel from the hot springs. ;-_- Merry Christmas to you, too... As the rest of KamiSen was busy, Inocchi was paired with comedian Fukawa Ryou, and Nagano was paired with geeky Inocchi fan, Sakamoto-chan. Inocchi and Fukawa ended up going to a deserted little farming town way up north. It looked bad until they happened across an old man heading to a party with some friends. At the mention of food and people, Inocchi and Fukawa quickly invited themselves along. They had a wonderful time stuffing themselves, and were even happier when they found out that one of the partiers was headed to the airport on business. The farmers even gave them a lovely traditional mask, which they used to give to Watanabe Marina as a Christmas present. The two were able to quickly hop their way back to Yokohama, finding a couple who were heading straight for the goal. Meanwhile, Nagano and Sakamoto-chan headed to a little tourist trap, the home of a Japanese character called "Tora-san." Sakamoto-chan was a huge fan, and only too happy to take a giant cracker in the shape of Tora-san as a Christmas present for Mino Monta. Nagano was only too happy to eat all of the food that the enamored shop keepers kept throwing at them. Everyone was happy~! After that, it was off to a nursery school Christmas party, just to watch Nagano melt around a room full of cute children. The two found their way to Yokohama, and found a couple heading to the goal. But just as they were driving for a parking space, they were shocked to see Inocchi's group sprinting down the street ahead of them. Nagano's team made a good try to catch up, but Inocchi won by mere seconds. So what did Inocchi and Fukawa win? Instead of a present from Santa Claus (santa kuroosu), they were presented with three different types of roast (san-taku roosu). They shouldn't be so shocked; this happens every time...
