project V6

The games starts with you being introduced as the new manager for V6. You have 1 year to set the schedules for V6 and turn them into stars. The game runs for 48 weeks (4 weeks for 12 months) from January 1 to December 31 (or, I suppose, December 28th with the abbreviated calendar). Aside from the fixed concert dates, the plan for every day is up to you.

Monthly Meeting

Every month starts off with a meeting. Here, you meet with the shadowy head of Johnny's Entertainment (lol) who gives you an update for the month. Here, you are also provided with any of the jobs offered to V6 during the past month. These can range from one day events for one member, to a multi-month drama series involved everyone. Choose to accept or reject any of the projects for the month. Accepting projects can fill up V6's schedule quick, but rejected projects aren't offered again.

Schedule

Here, you can set the week's schedule for V6. The activies range from photo shoots to radio shows to drama roles to roller-blading musicals (they ARE Johnny's, after all). The jobs range from the following types: Magazine work, TV work, Movie work, Radio work, Recording/CD work, Stage work, Other work, Dance lessons, Acting lessons, Voice lessons. These activities can increase the dance ability, vocal ability, acting ability, or the talk ability of the V6 member. There are also four types of jobs: individual, Coming Century, 20th Century, or V6. Obviously, a V6 job involves all six members so no one can choose something different to do that day. But when you plan out jobs, don't forget to schedule in well-deserved breaks, too. The game automatically enters jobs for you just in case you're too lazy to do it for yourself.

When planning the schedule, you can also check the following:

Calendar

The calender shows you what each member has been doing for that month. You can switch between members and months to display. This overall view is useful when you're trying to plan out the time before a big event, like a concert, or when you suddenly think to yourself, "Hey, when was the last time I gave Okada-kun a day off, anyway?"

Ranking

After playing for a while, you usually start getting into the monthly rankings. There are rankings for V6, such as the overall fan ratings and the singles charts, but there are also individual rankings. These rankings range from "Guy who I'd want to date" to "Sizzling hot actor". The chart here shows "I'd want to be his friend" ranking. These individual rankings show each V6 member in a different color. Clicking on the name toggles the person on/off for the graph.

Status

Here you can look at the status for each V6 member. The different stats include dance ability, singing ability, acting ability, talk ability (in other words, the ability to be a good radio show host or guest), physical strength, trust, tiredness, and stress. Different jobs increase all of the stats random amounts. Days off can reduce tiredness and stress, but resting too often just makes V6 lazy and decreases good stats. Physical strength is randomly increased with work, and seems to keep tiredness at bay. Trust is increased if you choose the right options during events, and might correlate to keeping stress at bay.

On the status screen, you can also choose which direction to push the lessons: dance, singing, or acting. This changes how the computer automatically assigns jobs for the week, in case you don't want to change anything for yourself. FYI, every V6 member starts off with the exact same stats... guess they didn't want to step on anyone's toes. (^_^) Because of this, and because the game takes a lot longer when everyone has separate activities, it's often more useful to choose blocks of activities for V6 to do together.

Run the Week

Now's the fun part. The game switches over to adorable animated gifs of the V6 members. If they succeed at their job, they tend to gain a large amount of stats. If they are unsuccessful, they may only gain a small amount or even lose stats. The animated gif below shows V6 at a successful New Year's concert. Aren't they precious!?

Events

About two or three times a week, you'll run into an event. The events can involve V6 members, producers, dance instructors, or random people on the street. Every event involves one or more questions, and answering correctly can raise V6's trust or pave the way for shiny new jobs.

Town

Every Sunday you head out to town. There, you can choose from visiting any one of a variety of buildings, including a TV station, a restaurant, and a little pub known as "Amigos". Every once in a blue moon, you may possibly run into someone and start an event. Seeing V6 members at the restaurant often leads to the massage mini-game, and you can play the slots mini-game at any time just by visiting "Amigos".
