For their first job, V6 was given the challenge to perform in the Kigure New Circus. All of V6 showed up to the circus with announcer Sano-san... where Nagano-kun admitted that he had never seen a circus. Sakamoto-kun said he hadn't either. When Sano-san asked the group, it turned out that only Okada-kun and Inocchi had ever even seen a circus. now THAT doesn't sound dangerous... After a fun time watching the circus perform, Sano-san introduced Kigure-san, the owner of the circus, and gave V6 the big news. One member would perform in each of five different acts. That's right, FIVE acts. One person, the LOSER member of V6, wouldn't get to be in the circus. As you can imagine, all six of the guys were determined not to be left out.
Performance #1: Trapeze
The first act presented to V6 was the trapeze act. Their task was to swing off of the trapeze and manage to grab the hands of a trapeze performer. Sound easy? Not quite. For one thing, both Sakamoto-kun and Inocchi are terrified of heights. But Okada-kun, believe it or not, learned how to swing on a trapeze about four years ago during a Shounen Okada segment. Go was first up, and looked incredibly nervous. He got himself all psyched up before finally swinging... and fell straight into the net. Inocchi was next and, even though he tried to play it off with jokes, he was simply terrified. He missed by a mile, and Ken wasn't much closer, either. V6 started getting worried that no one would make it, causing a stain on their reputation. Nagano was up next and looked determined to touch the other performer... and touch him he did~! I-it was with one hand, and Nagano dropped to the net a second later, but it was sure a whole lot closer than anyone else... Sakamoto-kun was up next and was doing pretty well, despite the fact that he flat out refused to look down. He spent his time making strange faces and shouting to himself in an attempt to psych himself up. He swung on the trapeze... and barely missed. Sakamoto-kun and the trapeze artist had the timing just slightly off, so that when Sakamoto-kun reached out, there were no hands there to catch him. Um, oops. So, it was all up to Okada-kun... and he did it. Perfectly. Apparently, flying on a trapeze is just like a bicycle. Easy to remember it again. Amazing. Okada-kun was chosen to perform in the trapeze act.
Performance #2: High Wire
The next act was the high wire act. Each remaining V6 member were given one chance on the practice bar on the ground, then had to climb the tall ladder again. The object was to walk the 20m long wire, and whoever walked the farthest would perform the act. Go quickly volunteered to go first. Ken said it was because Go likes to get bad things over with quickly, but Go insisted that he had confidence. But the wire, which was about the width of Go's thumb, stumped him and he ended up only walking 1m20cm before tilting off. Sakamoto-kun, who was said to have the best sense of balance in the group, was up next, but he only walked 2m60cm. Nagano-kun was my favorite, though. A circus performer was holding his waist until he got his balance on the wire, but the instant the performer let go, Nagano-kun fell off. The pressure was on when Inocchi got up. Kigure-san thought that Inocchi would do well, and it turned out he knew what he was talking about. Despite his fear of heights, Inocchi walked smoothly across the entire 20m~! The funniest part was after he was done, at which point he shouted down to the others, "Thanks for not talking to me while I doing this~!" At which point Nagano yelled back, "We were talking the entire time~!!" Inocchi was so focused that he actually had no idea that the other members were screaming "GANBARE~" at him. Even though Inocchi did it perfectly, Ken went up last. He was looking really unsteady at first, but managed to adjust his balance. While Inocchi walked across smoothly, Ken fought to keep his balance and ended up walking the whole length, too~! Kigure-san was asked to choose between Ken and Inocchi for the performance, and since he was so good at correcting his balance, Kigure-san chose Ken to do the high wire act.
Performance #3: Elephant Act
The third act was the Elephant Act. Everyone thought it would be some complicated test like the other two acts, but actually, it was ridiculously simple. Since the most important thing was that the trainer get along well with the elephant, each remaining V6 member was given an apple and stood in a line in front of an elephant. Whoever's apple the elephant ate, that person would perform in the act. Despite Sakamoto's mad twirling dance that seemed to really attract the elephant's attention, she ended up eating Nagano's apple. Nagano petted the elephant happily and proclaimed that he'd do a great show for the kiddies, so it probably all worked out for the best.
Performance #4: Chair Balancing
With the fourth act, Inocchi, Go, and Sakamoto-kun all started getting worried that they'd be left out. So they all were determined to give it their best for a spot in the Chair Balancing act. Their task was fairly straightforward: do a handstand on a chair. Whoever held it the longest would be the performer. One thing that my roommate pointed out, which I thought was hysterical, was that no one (including myself) doubted that the guys could do a handstand on a chair. They're Johnny's. They're V6. Of course they can do a handstand on a chair. Inocchi fell first, and Sakamoto-kun followed after. Which left, of course, Go-tsun to perform the Chair Balancing act~!
I was unfortunately unable to see the rest of the circus, which means I can't complete the screencaps or summaries. (T_T) So here's a quickie summary from various sites on the web: The fifth act was a rope act. The test had something to do with dumbbells, which I really don't understand, but in the end, Sakamoto-kun triumphed. Poor Inocchi didn't sound too happy about it, either... It was probably better that Leader was around, anyway, considering the drama later on. Sakamoto-kun and Go-tsun did well on their performances, and were apparently pretty impressive. Nagano-kun did fairly well, but was apparently upset that he and Anen (the elephant, of course) didn't have their best performance. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that he was dressed like Tarzan... Ken-ken did well, despite the fact that he was white with fear. The biggest drama of the segment happened to be poor Okada-kun and his very difficult trapeze act. He was having big trouble with it, but refused to give up. With only ten days to go, Okada-kun finally did it... but had torn his hands bloody with practice. Kigure-san told him that his hands wouldn't heal in time for the performance, and so Okada-kun left the other four in tears. The day before the big circus day, Okada-kun returned and asked Kigure-san to let him perform if he wrapped his hands well. He performed very well, thanks to magical Johnny's-like abilities and encouragement from Kigure-san and Leader. Another job well done by V6... except for Inocchi, who didn't even make it in time for the circus. ;-_- Poor guy... |
