Girl~Namida ga Niji ni Kawaru made~
Girl~Until Tears are Transformed into Rainbows
Sung by: E.M.U.

Version 2.00
Note: For some reason, very few American fangirls seem to know about E.M.U. They're a male seiyuu idol group with Midorikawa Hikaru, Okiayu Ryoutarou, Canna "Hayashi" Nobutoshi, Ishikawa Hideo, and Sakaguchi Daisuke. Girl is one of their big singles, and on several of their albums, actually. It's a simply beautiful ballad that makes you want to cry, it's so pretty. It's also amusing, as it's about the antithesis of the other famous male seiyuu idol group, Weiß. Anyway, both the normal version and remix version are excellent. The live version, otherwise tenderly known to us as "The One where Midorikawa-san Ruins the Whole Thing," is also a blast, but for different reasons. It's honestly hard not to laugh at this song anymore...
moshi kimi ga nemurezu ni
hitori de naitetara
kirei na hana o tsunde
madobe ni todokeyou
If you can't sleep
And are crying by yourself
Then I'll pick a beautiful flower
And deliver it to your window
kimi dake o itsu no hi mo
tooku de mitsumeteru
dakara kowagaranai de
waratte goran yo
Only you are watching that
Far off day
So don't be afraid
To try to smile
kimi ni deau tame ni
boku wa aruite kita
setsunasa no kawa ni
oboresou na toki
hora koko ni iru yo
In order to meet you
I'd walk to come to you
When you're drowning
In a river of pain
Look, I'm here with you
kimi ga kurasu hoshi ni
boku wa umareta no sa
chiisana namida mo
yagate niji ni kawatte yuku
Because I was born on this star (1)
Where you live
Even small tears will
Transform into rainbows before long
dare datte tsuyokunai
sore wa boku mo onaji
honno sukoshi de ii sa
yuuki o modou yo
Who isn't weak
I'm also like that
Just a little bit is okay
So have courage
kimi ni deau tame ni
boku wa aruite kita
himawari no you na
itsumo no egao
mou wasurenai de
In order to meet you
I'd walk to come to you
Like a sunflower's
Always smiling face
I won't forget it
kimi ga kurasu hoshi ni
boku wa umareta no sa
dare ni mo makenai
ai de sotto tsutsumu tame ni
Because I was born on this star
Where you live
I wouldn't lose to anyone
In order to softly cover you in love
tooku yoru o koete
hoshi ga nagaretara
sotto negai o kakeru
"shiawase o kudasai"
kimi wa boku no takaramono da yo
Oh, my girl
If stars that pass through
Distant nights drift by
I'd softly make a wish
"Please be happy"
You are my treasure
Oh, my girl
kimi ni deau tame ni
boku wa aruite kita
himawari no you na
itsumono egao
mou wasurenai de
In order to meet you
I'd walk to come to you
Like a sunflower's
Always smiling face
I won't forget it
kimi ga kurasu hoshi ni
boku wa umareta no sa
dare ni mo makenai
ai de sotto tsutsumu tame ni
Because I was born on this star
Where you live
I wouldn't lose to anyone
In order to softly cover you in love
(1) They sing hoshi (star) but the kanji says chikyuu (earth). In Japanese, the word hoshi for star not only indicates stars, but planets, suns, and well anything else that might be shining in the night sky. So this just serves to specify the word. Now be quiet and go back to the beautiful song.
Lyrics belong to Yokoyama Takeshi, taken from the E.M.U. Remix album, COCX-30008 (track 7). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
