Teenage (Juudai) wa Paradaisu
The Teens are Paradise (1)
Sung by: E.M.U.

Version 2.00
Note: This song depresses me like no other. No, I'm serious. The song is upbeat, catchy, utterly cute, and one of the best songs sung by my favorite seiyuu group, E.M.U. So why does it depress me? I'm not a teenager. [bursting into tears] Iyaaaaa, I left my best years behind me~! I'm an old hag; no one will ever love me~! [blow nose loudly] It doesn't even help to know that all of the E.M.U. members themselves are like 10 years older than me. In any case, enjoy this song, and enjoy your teens, before you wither away into the wind like me.
otona ni nareba wasureteshimau
juudai wa paradaisu
If you grow up, you'll completely forget
The teens are paradise
ashita no koto wa daremo
wakaranai no sa kamisama datte
jibun no omou you ni
hashiritsuzukete kaze ni naritai
No one knows what will
Happen tomorrow but god
Like my feelings,
I keep running, I want to become the wind
tsumazuitari kega o shitari
sore ga bokura no shigoto na no sa
I stumble, I hurt myself
But that's our job
tokimeku yume wa natsu no taiyou
namida nanka moyashiteshimaou
nanatsu no umi ga kitto matteru
juudai wa paradaisu
The throbbing dreams are the summer sun
Let's completely burn away things like tears
The seven seas are surely waiting
The teens are paradise
nakama to kenka o shite
oboeta koto ga takusan aru yo
hontou ni daiji na mono
sotsugyou shitara wakaranaku naru
I fight with my friends
And there are lots of things that I've learned
But as for the truly important things
When I graduate, I'll start to forget them
machigaete mo kizutsuite mo
kinoo no ame wa tsuzukanai yo
Even if I make a mistake, even if I get hurt
Yesterday's rain doesn't continue
afureru yume wa daiyamondo sa
akiramezu ni supiido ageyou
otona ni nareba wasureteshimau
juudai wa paradaisu
Overflowing dreams are diamonds
Don't give up and increase your speed
If you grow up, you'll completely forget
The teens are paradise
tokimeku yume wa natsu no taiyou
namida nanka moyashiteshimaou
nanatsu no umi ga kitto matteru
juudai wa paradaisu
The throbbing dreams are the summer sun
Let's completely burn away things like tears
The seven seas are surely waiting
The teens are paradise
afureru yume wa daiyamondo sa
akiramezu ni supiido ageyou
otona ni nareba wasureteshimau
juudai wa paradaisu
Overflowing dreams are diamonds
Don't give up and increase your speed
If you grow up, you'll completely forget
The teens are paradise
(1) Okay, this gets complicated in romanization, so here we go: In the original Japanese, the title says "Teenage wa paradaisu." The word "Teenage" is in English; "paradaisu" is in Japanese. However, above the word "Teenage," it says to pronouce it juudai (the teens). In any case, I call the song "Juudai wa Paradise" and leave it at that.
Lyrics belong to Yokoyama Takeshi, taken from the E.M.U. Remix album, COCX-30008 (track 2). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
