Joujou Kibun Kouyou
Exalt The Very Best Feeling
Sung by: Yamaguchi Kappei (Chichiri)
Translated by: Mina-P (Email: Minako@senshigakuen.com)
Version 2.00
Note: For those of you who are confused, this is just another song in my Fushigi Yuugi CD Book series. In the CD Books, Yamaguchi Kappei played Chichiri and has this absolutely amazing song on book 3. FYI, CD Book 3 is ENTIRELY the Nuriko/Genbu storyline. Yes, when putting together a 5 set CD Book series, they decided to devote an entire CD to something that took maybe 4 episodes out of 52 in the TV series. I suppose it helped that they cut "unimportant" plotlines, like Tomo. [sweatdrop] Did they just think no one would notice only meeting 6 out of 7 shichiseishi...?
natsu no sora wa aoku hare nyuudougumo ga
kawabune yuki hototogisu fumoto de naku koe
yume wa makotoshiyakagao
kinbyou no esoragoto
tabi wa minami e higashi e
The summer sky is a clear blue with far off clouds (1)
A cuckoo bound for a riverboat sings at the foot of a mountain
Dreams are a mock front
The forgery of a gold-leaf wall
I travel to the south and to the east
chimaki o hoobaru kodomo-tachi
oira no henge nedatteru
matsuri no yomise ga desorotte
miyako wa kyou mo hito ga tsudou
Children with their mouths stuffed with rice dumplings
I'm teasing them with my goblins
The festival's nighttime shops are all there
Even today people will gather in the capital
hatake no michi kakashi yure konankokusei ni
tera no kane o tsuku hibiki kumo mo midare ashi
asu wa kaze no jikanjiku
nadeshiko no otoshidane
tabi wa ibara ka hokage ka
In Konankoku, a scarecrow trembles on a farm road
The Buddhist temple's bell resounds, even the clouds scatter
Tomorrow is the wind's time axis (2)
The nadeshiko's lost seed (3)
Are the travels thorns or firelight?
okina no hanashi de kiitakke
kono kuni mamoru miko no yume
hiyori ga hana o sakasu toki
oira no tabi mo kitto owaru
Did you listen to your elders' story
The miko's dream that will protect this country
When the flowers bloom in good weather
My travels will also surely be finished
kono kuni ni tomosu made
ai no hohoemi o
yoru ni mau tsuki no nari
douka mimamotte
nami no ma ni kirameita
hoshi no kagerou yo
katararenu densetsu ga
tsuzuru hibi terase
Until this country is lit up
With love's smiles
The shape of the dancing moon in the night
Please watch over us
The stars' heated shimmering
Glistened in the space between the waves
The untold legend shines
Upon every day when it's composed
(1) Quite literally, there are cumulo-nimbus clouds. Chichiri knows his clouds.
(2) O-kay then. Jikanjiku means "time axis." In case you're wondering, I have absolutely no idea what that means. If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE write me~!
(3) Okay, the Nadeshiko is a type of flower, apparently is a "pink" in English. As I'm not a florist, I honestly don't know what type of flower this is or what meaning it has. Theoretically... it's pink. About all I do know is that it's the name of Sakura's mother in Card Captor Sakura and the name of a certain ship.
Lyrics belong to Hibi Anri and Shogakukan, taken from the Fushigi Yuugi 3 CD book, WCD-009 (track 10). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
