I find both songs to be basically two parts to the same storyline. Both are about love and loss, both focus on the importance of a song related to the moon. Structurally, the titles and time signatures mirror each other. While <i>Tsuki no Uta</i> is a ballad in 3/4 featuring acoustic guitar, <i>Hoshi no Suna</i> is a ballad in 3/4 featuring piano.
