NINE SPIRAL
Lyrics, Written, Sung by: Gackt Camui
Translated by: Mina-P (Email: Minako@senshigakuen.com)
Version 2.00
Note: Dear me, I adore this song. It's from Gackt's end of 2000 single Secret Garden. Unlike the trend of his previous singles, Secret Garden isn't a little depressing tale of woe, and this is emphasized by the amazing b-side, Nine Spiral. It quickly became one of my favorite songs of all time, and possibly my favorite Gackt song. It's just [insert Buttercup impression here] HARD CORE. Anyway, if you liked the lyrics to Sweet Slaughter, you'll love this one.
me no mae ni arawarete wa kie
boku no yume o kirikizamu koe
itsuwari darake no kono yo de
asobarete...kowasarete
The thing that appeared in front of my eyes vanished
The voice that cut my dreams to pieces
In this world that's full of lies (1)
Tease me...Break me (2)
kimagure shoujo no moyougae
dakishimeaeba kono daichi de
ki ga tsukeba hito wa sarumane
ayatsurarete...ikasarete
A capricious girl's change
If you can embrace each other on this earth
If you notice a person's an imitation (3)
Pull my strings...Make me live
tooku de kikoeru ano koe
mousou darake no noa no fune
toosarete...fusagarete
okasarete
That voice that can be heard distantly
Noah's boat that's full of delusions
Beat me...Stop me
Violate me
lie...mune o kirisaite
koe o ubawarete
me o fusagareta kimi
lie...you who ripped up my chest
robbed me of my voice
stopped up my eyes
nikomarete...oshimarete
asobarete...kowasarete
taosarete...fusagarete
okasarete...korosarete
Hate me...Pity me
Tease me...Break me
Beat me...Stop me
Violate me...Kill me
nanimokamo okizari ni shite
ima mo mada ano bashou de boku wa kimi dake o miteru
Leave everything behind
Even now at that place I'm only looking at you
lie...mune o kirisaite
koe o ubawarete
me o fusagareta kimi
lie...you who ripped up my chest
robbed me of my voice
stopped up my eyes
lie...yasashiku kirisaite
sotto sakishimete
ta-su-ke-te-ageru
lie...Gently rip me up
Softly embrace me
Pl-e-a-se-save me
(1) Not a biggie, but Gackt uses the kanji sekai (world) for the spoken yo (um, world). They're almost the same, but sekai implies world, as in the physical round Earth definition of world. Yo implies more of the world as something made up of people, plants, animals, etc.
(2) The kanji used in asobarete is usually used with tawamureru. They're almost the same meaning as "play," but the kanji implies to play in the joking or flirting sense.
(3) By using kanji and katakana in the word sarumane (indisciminate imitation), Gackt emphasizes the saru (monkey) part of that word. Just thought that was amusing.
Lyrics belong to Gackt Camui and Nippon Crown, taken from the Secret Garden single, CRCP-10001 (track 2). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
