Note: Kawamura Ryuichi will probably be better known to you as the lead singer of j-rock band Luna Sea. In 1997, the band took a little break in order to do solo projects. Ryuichi-san released two albums and several singles. His most successful single was Glass, one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. Funny story about Ryuichi-san: while in Tokyo, I was attempting to explain to my Japanese teachers who Luna Sea was. Y'know, hit singles, played Tokyo Dome multiple times; they had absolutely no idea who the hell I was talking about. And then one of the teachers finally told the others, "Oh, this lead singer, ‘Ryuichi.' That's KAWAMURA Ryuichi." "OHHHHHHHH," all of the teachers said. "KAWAMURA Ryuichi…" I have no idea how one could possibly know Ryuichi-san and NOT know Luna Sea, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this song is exactly one of the reasons why. It's just that good.
