Are You Happy? ~Dare yori Suteki na Kimi ni nare~
Are You Happy? ~More Than Anyone Else, Be Your Wonderful Self~
Sung by: ANGEL

Version 1.00
Note: This song comes from the Sunrise series Chouja Reideen, the, um, more recent version. It's from 1996 or so, and is a remake of the old-school Reideen. To make it more "hip" I suppose, the main characters became members of rival boy bands. The "evil" group became a rock band filled with experienced seiyuus called "The Hearts." The "good" guys became a super happy boy band filled with newbie seiyuus. Anyway, ANGEL is seiyuus Itou Kentarou (Aoi Jun from Nadesico), Suyama Akio (Ohgami from Sakura Wars), Shibuya Shigeru (Gene from Outlaw Star), Yusa Koji (Reria in Crest of the Stars), and Takimoto Fujiko (Nike from Mahoujin Guru Guru) singing as their respective roles. This song really epitomizes ANGEL: it's upbeat, it's endlessly happy, it's really really really cute. An absolute guarantee to cheer you up, even on your worst days. Yeah!
"dokoka ni nanika ii koto nai?" tte
kuchiguse bakari furikaesu Everyday
taikutsu na News
fukigen na kimi
kusubutta Passion
nee kocchi o mukaitemite Please
nejireteru hohoemi de
yume o akirametari shiteru ko wa dare?
You say, "Isn't there anything good happening anywhere?" (1)
You say nothing but that over and over again Everyday
Boring News
Sullen you
Passion that smouldered
Heey, try turning here Please
With your twisting smile
Who's that kid giving up on their dreams?
Are You Happy? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
jibun kara tobidasu no sa
Are You Ready? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
umare kaware
dare yori suteki na kimi ni Yeah!
Are You Happy? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
Start your flight away from yourself
Are You Ready? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
Born, changed
More than anyone else, be your wonderful Yeah!
"dokoka ni dareka ii hito inai?"

yoru ni kizutsuitari shiteru ko wa dare?
"Aren't there any good people anywhere?" (2)
The little fever you've been saving in your heart leaks out Midnight
Pushy Boys
Sullen you
Risky True Love
Heey, where're you turning to? Hey!
Standing still in the crowd
Who's that kid getting hurt in the night?
Are You Lonery? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
samishisa ni amaenai de
Are You Ready? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
umare kaware
heibon na mainichi sutete Yeah!
Are You Lonely? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
Don't just wallow in sadness
Are You Ready? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
Born, changed
Throw away your bland everyday Yeah!
Are You Happy? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!
jibun kara tobidasu no sa
Are You Ready? Baby, HOP! STEP! JUMP! Yeah!

(1) Just a little note. The sung lyric is koto (thing) while the written lyric is jiken (event). Almost the same thing, but jiken is a bit more specific to something that happens.
(2) Another little note. The sung lyric is hito (person) while the written lyric is koibito (lover). This just implies in the line that it's not just is there anyone, but is there anyone you can love.
Lyrics belong to Takubo Mami, taken from the Chouja Reideen Vol. 1: Journey drama and song album, AYCM-576 (track 6). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
