CHANGE THE WORLD
Sung by: V6

Version 1.00
Note: This is the first V6 song I ever heard. It was the opening theme to the Inuyasha anime, which my host family little sister watched religiously while I was in Japan. Even besides the fact that I heard the song weekly, I really adored the song itself. But I was truly impressed with the song after I saw it performed live on "Music Station." Mainly because their dance was great, their performance was perfectly polished, and the most amazing thing, they actually sounded like their recording, live. I was incredibly shocked by their honest talent on a really genki song. This is really something that'll cheer you up if you're down. Yeah~!
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
kaze o kakenukete nani mo okorezu ni
ima yuuki to egao no kakera daite
CHANGE MY MIND
jounetsu tayasazu ni takanaru mirai e
te o nobaseba kagayakeru hazu sa IT'S WONDERLAND
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
Run through the storm Don't let anything upset you (1)
Now you've got to embrace the shards of courage and laughter
CHANGE MY MIND
Don't extinguish your passion into the heart-pounding future
If you stretch out your hand things will be sure to brighten up IT'S WONDERLAND
haiiro no sora no kanata nanika oitekita kimi wa mayoinagara sagashitsuzukeru
Something was left behind far off in the gray skies I'll keep searching as long as you're lost
kimi no kokoro furueteta asu no mienai yo nani mo shinjirarezu mimi o fusagu
Your heart was trembling in tomorrow's unseen nights You can't believe in anything and just shut up your heart
kimi ni deaeta toki hontou no ibasho mitsuketa
nanigenai yasashisa ga koko ni atte bokura mezameru
When I met you I finally found where I belonged
Your casual kindness greets us here we are awakened
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
nido to mayowanai kimi to iru mirai
katachi doreba doko made mo toberu sa
CHANGE MY MIND
jounetsu tayasazu ni shiranai ashita e
tsubasa hiroge hanebatakeru hazu sa IT'S WONDERLAND
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
I won't be lost again in the future where you're here with me
Some way or another we'll fly off as far as we can go
CHANGE MY MIND
Don't extinguish your passion into the unknown tomorrow
Spread your wings and you can fly away IT'S WONDERLAND
bokura wa onaji sekai o oyogitsuzuketeru tagai no negai e todoku hi made
We keep swimming through the same world Until the day when both of our wishes are granted
minna onaji fuan idaete sasaeaeru yo
tachidomaru shunkan ni mitsumeteru kono basho ni iru
Everyone holds the same unhappiness and keeps them going (2)
The instant you stop you're in the place that you've been looking for
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
kono te hanasazu ni mimamoru hitomi o
uketometara nani datte dekiru hazu
CHANGE MY MIND
hitori ni sasenai minna koko ni iru
donna koto mo tsukinuketeikou IT'S WONDERLAND
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
Don't let go of my hand If I can capture
The eyes that I'm gazing at then I can do anything
CHANGE MY MIND
I won't let you be alone everyone's right here
No matter what happens we'll get through it IT'S WONDERLAND
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
kaze o kakenukete nani mo okorezu ni
ima yuuki to egao no kakera daite
CHANGE MY MIND
jounetsu tayasazu ni takanaru mirai e
te o nobaseba kagayakeru hazu sa IT'S WONDERLAND
I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD
Run through the storm Don't let anything upset you
Now you've got to embrace the shards of courage and laughter
CHANGE MY MIND
Don't extinguish your passion into the heart-pounding future
If you stretch out your hand things will be sure to brighten up IT'S WONDERLAND
(1) The written lyrics refer to kaze (wind), but the kanji actually says shippu (hurricane). So, I went somewhere between for the two meanings and translated it as a storm.
(2) I really like this part. Sasaeaeru means not only supporting something, but to receive support back. So these by holding onto our unhappiness, we help build them, but at the same time, we won't let go because they support us somehow. Wow, go V6~!
Lyrics belong to Matsumoto Rie and Avex Trax, taken from the Volume 6 album, AVCD-11958 (track 9). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
