Yasei no Hana
The Wild Flower

Note: I must admit that I wasn't too crazy about this song at first as the sound is very different than most V6 songs. However, the more I listen to it, the more I adore it. The lyrics are really amazing and really mesh well with the musical message of the song as I continue to understand it. On a random side note, I often want to call this song "Yasai no Hana" (The Vegetable Flower) instead of "Yasei no Hana". Not on purpose, of course, but it does get me rather confused. "I love Yasei no Hana... no, I mean Yasai...... no wait, it was Yasei."
shikitsumeta conkuriito no sukima ni umareta hana yo
In a crack in the concrete that covers all, a flower is born
yubisaki egaku yume wa tada kokuu o kiru dake de
The dream painted with my fingertips only cuts an arc into the air
fushizen ni azayaka na kono jidai
jibun no imi mitsuketai
This time is artificially bright
I want to find my own meaning
karehateta jikan wa iranai tada asu o mitsuke ni
itetsuita fuyu ni saku sono chikara shinjiteikou
I don't need time that's withered and dead, just to find tomorrow
I want to believe in the power that blooms in the frozen winter
tsumekomu kotoba ni kokoro wa katakuzure shiteta
My heart crumbled beneath weighted words
iyasareru koto yori mo kawareru koto
nukedasu kagi kono te no naka ni
Even more than being healed it's about changing
The key to slipping out is in my hand
fukitsukeru kaze ni mo orenai mada maketaku wa nai
shinjita michi mihatenu sono hi made sakitsuzukeyou
I won't break even against the blowing gale I still don't want to lose
Until the day that I can't continue on the the path I believed in I'll continue to bloom
karehateta jikan wa iranai tada asu o mitsuke ni
itetsuita fuyu ni saku sono chikara shinjiteikou
I don't need time that's withered and dead, just to find tomorrow
I want to believe in the power that blooms in the frozen winter
Lyrics belong to Makizu Tomoko and Avex Trax, taken
from the V6 Very Best album, AVCD-11881~2 (disc 1, track 15). Not like the words make
any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into
English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by
Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
