Mizu no Naka no Chiisana Taiyou
A Small Sun Inside of the Water
Sung by: Yuuki Hiro
Translated by: Mina-P (Email: Minako@senshigakuen.com)
Version 1.00
Note: Funny story about this translation that has nothing to do with the song itself... I got an e-mail one day, asking if I could translate this song. It was actually the second request I had gotten for this song, and like the first time, I was all prepared to write back a rejection letter. Not that I had any problem with translating the song, but I simply had never heard of it. Just before I wrote the e-mail, though, I checked my CD collection... and found the song. ;-_- Ohhhhh, THAT song by Yuuki Hiro from Weiss Kreuz called "Mizu no Naka no Chiisana Taiyou." Long story short, I felt like an idiot, I translated the song, and I learned a lesson: I have too many CDs. Enjoy~!
monokuro no shinema ga yoku niatteta
kono kuni no mukashi o natsukashimu yo
machi no hiroba ni aru yogoreta sekizou
nikushimi to itoshisa oshieteru
Black and white film really suited it
This country's past is really nostalgic
In the city center, a filty statue
Teaches us about love and hate
naze ni naze ni kagiri aru mono
yume o uragiru no ka
douka douka boku no hitomi no
taiyou ubawanai de yo
Why why does everything in my reach
Betray my dreams
Somehow somehow please don't take away
The sun from my eyes
kakan nakute kanashii utsukushiki mono
sabaku ni kaerinasai kyaraban sarai
akai bara ni ochita ame no shizuku mo
itsuka wa toki o koe ishizue ni
It's not bold, but sad and beautiful
Please go back to the desert Caravan sarai (1)
Even the drop of rain that fell from the red rose
Will some day erode solid stone
naze ni hito wa tooi maboroshi
motome yurameku no ka
douka douka boku no izumi no
taiyou ubawanai de yo
Why do people look out for
Illusions flickering in the distance
Somehow somehow please don't take away
The sun from my spring
naze ni naze ni kagiri aru mono
yume o uragiru no ka
douka douka boku no hitomi no
taiyou ubawanai de yo
Why why does everything in my reach
Betray my dreams
Somehow somehow please don't take away
The sun from my eyes
douka douka boku no izumi no
taiyou ubawanai de yo
Somehow somehow please don't take away
The sun from my spring
(1) From what I can tell a "caravan sarai" was a place along the Silk Road where the caravans could stop and rest or trade. Think of them as ancient truck stops. ^_^
Lyrics belong to Aida Takeshi and Marine Entertainment, taken from the Schlag des Herzens album, MMCM-1009 (track 4). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
